Dr. Ebbin serves as both a professor at the University of Connecticut’s Avery Point campus and the Research Coordinator for Connecticut Sea Grant, teaching courses in environmental and marine science and policy that support students in Marine Sciences and Maritime Studies. Her research interests include marine and environmental management and policy, with specific focus on the institutional and human dimensions of resource management and policy, particularly within marine and coastal systems.
Previous work has examined participatory and collaborative management approaches including Native American co-management of Pacific salmon in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. She was a postdoctoral researcher at Dartmouth College, obtained a PhD. and masters’ degrees from Yale University, an MS from the University of Alaska, Juneau, and a BA from Williams College.
